SPPS Marching Bands Make State Fair Debut

SPPS Marching Bands Make State Fair Debut

For the first time, marching bands from multiple Saint Paul Public Schools joined together as one to perform in the State Fair parade on Tuesday, Sept. 1. Nearly 100 students wore custom blue SPPS Marching Band t-shirts, representing Central, Como Park, Harding, Highland, Humboldt, Johnson, OWL and Washington. The band played "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire. They marched behind JROTC students from Como Park, Harding, Humboldt, Johnson and Washington. Dr. Stanley and members of her team joined the students and staff in the parade.

Special thanks to all of the band teachers and JROTC staff who made this opportunity possible, including Matthew Oyen, Todd Hanlon-Alle, Jeremy Barnes, Dan Perelstein, Katie Miller, Jennifer Greupner, Joel Matuzak, Melanie Lunda, David Marchetti, Wendy Goetz, Dwight Dorau and Anna King.
