I am a Special Education teacher for students with Developmental Disabilities. During the school year '08-'09 I currently teach three sections of Earth Space Systems Science, one section of Language Arts, and one section of Study Skills.   This is my second year at Humboldt Sr. High, although being here is not new for me.  I am a proud graduate of Humboldt (if you can find out the year I graduated, come to my room for a prize) as was my father who was also a vocal music teacher at Humboldt for many years.  I am a fourth generation West Sider and very proud of my community.

I stay involved in the community by being a block club leader and attending neighborhood potlucks and gatherings.

Prior to teaching at Humboldt, I worked in Special Education policy at the University of Minnesota, taught Work Experience and coached varsity swimming at Rosemount High School, worked at Tree Trust employing special -needs and at-risk youth and teaching work and life skills.  I also taught drug awareness and prevention classes through District 196.  I enjoy teaching very much as it taps into my creative nature.

my spare time I enjoy acting on stage and in film.  My favorite part to play was a "Norman Bates-like" mom with a wooden leg in a film called, "Water Off a Black Dog's Back".  I also swim, run, hike, garden and love to go camping with my two lovely boys, my intelligent husband and my faithful Black Lab, Lupe.

My passions are scooters, music (from blues to ska and everything in between) travel, and humanity.

In the future I see myself living in a thatched roof hut by the big, blue ocean on a white, sandy beach.  Stop by if you can.
