Earth Science 8 is ayear-long introductory earth and space sciences course that introduces thebasic earth science concepts through labs, models, and hands-on activities. Thetopics covered are: geology, meterology and astronomy along with the history and nature of science. Students will develop skills of scientific inquiryand laboratory investigations. Earth Science 8 meets the earth and spacescience requirements for middle school and prepares students for 9thgrade high school science courses.

As an environmental school,we will be incorporating the theme of The River into the earth science curriculum.

Materials Required for class every day:

  • Science Notebook
  • Pencil/Pen
  • Planner (contains hall passes)

 Passes:

You will be allowed 4 passesfor each quarter. Any unused passes can be used for extra credit at the end ofthe quarter. Passes are kept in the student’s planner. DON’T LOSE THESEPASSES!

Books:

Books will be checked outjust like library books. In addition to the hard cover text book, each studentwill receive a soft cover work book which they can keep. Assignmentswill be given from the work book, so please keep it safe.

Office Hours:

I am available before andafter school for help on assignments, or if you need to make up an assignment,lab or quiz. In addition, you can seek help during the eighth period extendedday class.
