Julian accepts his award from the Mayor.

City of St. Paul Proclamation

 

Whereas, Julian Mancha is a sixteen year-old Humboldt High School junior who has reignighted the past traditions of Humboldt High School’s dominance in wresting and his extraordinary perseverance, attitude and character distinguish him from his peers;

 

Whereas, Julian Mancha has displayed a strong work ethic and discipline, which has assisted him in being the successful three-sport athlete and student he is and, by displaying his dividends of hard work, dedication and desire, he is proof positive for the young kids in the surrounding West Side community; and

Julian Mancha represented Humboldt and the City of Saint Paul in the 2005 State Wrestling Tournament and achieved sixth-place and All-State wrestling honors in the 171 pound weight class; and

 

Whereas, Julian Mancha was named All-Conference with a 6-0 record in the 2004-2005 Wrestling Saint Paul City Conference, leading his team to the highest conference finish in thirteen years, and winning a crucial match during the Twin Cities match-up, clinching Humboldt the 3rd place Twin Cities title; and

 

Whereas, Julian Mancha humbly volunteers at the West Side Boys and Girls Club, his school and in his community and demonstrates a great citizenship and leadership role for his peers and all of the youth in the City of Saint Paul;

 

Now, Therefore, I, Randy C. Kelly, Mayor of the City of Saint Paul, do hereby proclaim Wednesday,
